Imagine School of Swimming
The best swimming school in the world! Imagine is such a happy, cool place. Run by former Olympic swimmers Casey, Lars and Jeff, children receive amazing attention and love from some wonderful instructors who are not only great at what they do but have great personalities too! They have schools in Tribeca, the Upper East Side, 25th Street/1st Avenue, and in London Terrace on 9th avenue/23rd Street. Lars has an amazing German accent too.
Cobble Hill Ballet
Colette runs the happiest ballet school in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Classes are held in a big bright studio on a leafy street in the heart of Cobble Hill. Colette, a native English lass, offers classes from three year olds and up, and produces gloriously adorable shows every semester for parents to come and watch their little one's progress.

Cake Power
Every cake Kate makes is a work of art, so you almost don't want to eat it! She makes cakes for birthdays, for weddings and for celebrations - with impeccable taste and heaps of humor. Prepare to be amazed at the cakes she showcases on her website. Her work has been featured in just about every wedding magazine out there. It helps that she is a lovely woman with a great big heart and a fun spirit too.
Real Food Catering
We met Real Food Catering's founder, Yen, at a wedding in Brooklyn Heights in 2007. We were blown away when we got a chance to sample the incredible food she was preparing and beyond that we were thrilled to meet such a lovely woman: she pays unbelievable attention to the catering she provides whilst also being so whole-heartedly jovial and sweet to everyone around her. You won't find better - nor more affordable.
Ingrun von Keudell, Designer
We've known Ingrun since we all went to Parsons School of Design together in Paris. Ingrun has so much taste it's scary. Originally from Munich, she grew up between Germany and India. Nowadays Ingrun works for Ralph Lauren here in New York, but she also designs stunning, intricately-constructed gowns for private clients. She recently had a dress showcased in "Martha Stewart Weddings" magazine (October 2007).
Christopher Fulton, Make-up Artist
Christopher has made up everyone from Judith Giuliani to Jessica Alba, but his biggest passion is brides. His clients include Marie Claire, Japanese Vogue and Neutrogena, and he regularly appears as "a make-up specialist" on MTV and VH1. But beyond all his successes, Chris is incredibly sweet-natured and so good at making a woman look even more beautiful in the simplest, but perfect way. Chris' rates start at $1000 to make up three faces!
Jodi Gibson, Film-maker and Videographer
We met Jodi in 2006. A phenomenal artist, she's worked on films that have shown in Sundance, Teluride and Cannes. She holds two Masters in photography and film from NYU. Jodi has loads of pizzazz and affection for everyone. She is the consumate professional whilst still managing to connect with her subjects, and, in many ways, treats a wedding or event as she would a narrative film. Not only are her visuals top-notch, but she's a master editor. She always comes with a second shooter. Her rates begin at $3000.

Kaas Glassworks, Handmade Decoupage
117 Perry Street (between Hudson and Greenwich Streets)
New York 10014
Tel 212 366 0322
Just about anything Carol Kaas makes you'll want to put in your house - so beware before entering her shop! Carol finds antique prints and illustrations at flea markets and in old books, faithfully and lovingly reprints them and then places them under glass. The pieces are always unique and often funny: anatomical drawings, flags, warning signs, old stamped envelopes, maps, cabinet of curiosity illustrations and vintage floral prints. Either hang the trays on your wall, or use them as an "everything" dish on a bedside table or a centre piece on a dining room table. They make absolutely gorgeous gifts.
